Tips on renewing items

Not all ODIN libraries permit renewals. To see if a library permits patrons to renew their own items, please click here and then choose your LIBRARY and DEFAULT LIBRARY SETTINGS. The default settings for that particular library will appear. Please find CIR PUBLIC RENEWAL. If the library permits patrons to renew items themselves the response will be YES. If the library does not permit patrons to renew items themselves the response will be NO.

On any patron information screen, when you are prompted to enter a barcode, please enter your patron barcode (ex. 23125004433667) - a 14-digit number beginning with 2 that you use to check out items in an ODIN library.

If there are no books eligible for renewal, you will see a message: NO RECORDS ELIGIBLE FOR SELECTED ACTION

If there are books eligible for renewal, a list of them will appear and you will be asked to select the checkboxes next to the items you want to renew. After submitting your renewal request, please make sure to read the response from WebODIN to check whether your renewal requests were granted. If an item has been recalled you will not be able to renew it.

Please note that any fines that are accumulating at time of renewal are not forgiven merely by the renewal action. Fines will become final and it is up to each individual ODIN library whether you are responsible for the fine or not.
